As entertaining as these videos are, I often wonder who goes to all the trouble of making them. I was certainly nice of the creator to give equal time to Bush and Obama. Definitely worth 3 minutes and 24 seconds of my time. Thanks for posting.

ReplyDeleteTo answer your "who goes to the trouble of making these videos" comment, I would imagine that people who enjoy video production and enjoy having large numbers of people view their work create videos such as this.
Remixing videos does not require the same amount of creativity as creating original work does, however remixed videos can be as popular or more popular than the original work. Remixing gives skilled and dedicated individuals an opportunity to create popular online work without the creativity that goes into original production.
I say "original production," but I actually agree with my Media Life professor, Mark Deuze's comment that very little of the media that we consume is truly "original." Almost everything is a remix of something that was made in the past in some way.
